Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I find my ring size?
The best way is to visit a local jeweller and ask them to measure your finger - it's usually quick and often free, or just a small charge.
If that's not possible, don’t worry - there are a few other ways to get a good idea at home:
Option 1: Use a Ring That Already Fits
-
Find a ring that fits the finger you want the new ring for
-
Measure the internal diameter in millimetres using a ruler or calliper - as accurately as you can (most common sizes are 16mm, 17mm, or 18mm)
-
Send me that number, and I’ll match it to the correct UK ring size for you
Option 2: Measure Your Finger with Paper or String
-
Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string
-
Wrap it gently but snugly around the base of your finger (make sure it can still slide over your knuckle)
-
Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimetres
-
Common finger measurements are around 50–65mm - send me yours and I’ll convert it into a UK size
Option 3: Try a Ring Sizing App
There are free apps like Ring Sizer that help you measure your size using an existing ring. It’s not perfect, but it’s helpful if you’re stuck.
Tips for Accuracy
-
Measure your finger at the end of the day when it’s warm - your fingers are naturally smaller in the morning or when cold
-
Repeat your measurement a few times to double-check
-
If you're choosing a wider ring (8mm or more), go up half a size for comfort
💡 Self-measuring isn’t always as precise as a professional sizing, but if you follow these steps, we’ll get close! And I’m always happy to help interpret your numbers.
What happens if I measure my ring size wrong and need a resize?
Rings purchased from Booblinka Jewellery can be resized depending on the design and materials. However, it is your responsibility to ensure the correct ring size before placing your order.
If you’re unsure about your size, I recommend visiting a local jeweller for a professional measurement or using a ring sizing app like Ring Sizer. You’re also welcome to contact me before placing your order for guidance.
If your ring doesn’t fit:
- I can resize most rings for a small fee, which depends on the metal and the number of sizes to be adjusted.
- Some designs, such as those with intricate settings or fragile materials, may require the ring to be remade instead of resized.
Please get in touch if you need a resize, and I’ll be happy to help. Shipping costs will apply.
What happens if I change my mind after trying the piece on?
If you change your mind after trying on a piece, I’m happy to offer a refund or exchange for standard items, provided they are returned in their original condition.
Please note:
- Custom-made or bespoke pieces are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged due to their personalised nature.
- Earrings cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
For full details, please refer to our Shipping & Returns Policy.
Can you recreate a piece I’ve seen elsewhere?
I don’t copy other designers’ work - and I ask kindly that you don’t ask me to.
As an artist, I pour a lot of time, heart, and energy into every piece I create. I also deeply respect the work of other makers, and it’s important to honour their ideas just as I protect my own.
That said, I love working with inspiration. If you’ve seen something you connect with - a shape, a feeling, a colour palette - you’re very welcome to share it with me. We can use that as a starting point to design something truly unique, crafted in my own Booblinka style.
Let’s create something original and meaningful - just for you.
Can you describe the materials used in your jewellery?
I use high-quality materials, including sterling silver, various carats of gold, ethically sourced ocean diamonds, captivating blue topaz, and genuine sea glass collected from the Cornish coast. Each material is carefully selected for its beauty, durability, and ability to reflect the essence of the ocean in my designs.
Can I request a custom design?
Absolutely! I love working with clients to create personalised designs that capture their unique style and hold special meaning. Whether it’s a bespoke piece inspired by the ocean or something entirely unique, I’ll work with you every step of the way to bring your vision to life.
How do I care for my Booblinka Jewellery?
To keep your jewellery looking its best:
- Polish gently with a soft, non-abrasive cloth to maintain its shine.
- Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and hand sanitisers, as they can damage the materials.
- Store properly in a dry, cool place, ideally in an airtight box or jewellery pouch, to prevent tarnishing or scratches.
For detailed care instructions tailored to specific materials, please visit my Jewellery Care Guide.
What is your warranty policy?
At Booblinka Jewellery, I take great care in ensuring the originality of my designs and the quality of the materials used in every piece. My jewellery is crafted to last, whether it’s a statement piece for special occasions or an everyday treasure.
Caring for Your Jewellery:
I encourage you to treat your jewellery with love and care. Over time, items that are worn frequently may require maintenance, such as cleaning or minor surface repairs. Detailed care tips are included with each piece, and you’re always welcome to contact me for advice on how to care for or maintain a specific piece.
Wear and Tear:
Wear and tear is a natural part of any jewellery piece. Finishes like matte, oxidised, or high-polish will naturally fade over time, especially on rings. These can often be professionally restored to their original appearance for a small service fee.
If you have questions about the long-term care of your jewellery, or need a specific repair, I’m happy to help.
Are your prices inclusive of VAT?
