This ring is part of my Drop of the Ocean collection — inspired by that darker, quieter part of the sea where the colour shifts as the light moves across it.
At the centre sits an 8mm London blue topaz cabochon. It isn’t flat or faceted. It’s smooth and rounded, and when you turn your hand, the colour changes — sometimes bright blue, sometimes almost inky. It reveals different tones from different angles, a bit like looking into water.
I made the band in solid sterling silver with a comfortable 3mm D-shape profile, so it feels smooth and grounded on your finger. On each side of the setting, I added small 9ct gold granules. That touch of gold warms the silver and gives the whole piece a quiet contrast.
This isn’t a tiny, delicate ring. It’s a bold London blue topaz statement ring. It won’t be for everyone — and that’s exactly the point.
