What Makes My Spinning Necklace Different? - Booblinka Jewellery

What Makes My Spinning Necklace Different?

If you type “spinning necklace” into Google, you’ll see a lot of flat discs that turn in the middle.

That’s not what I make.

When I designed my spinning necklace, I didn’t want something that felt like a novelty. I wanted it to feel solid. Balanced. Something you could wear every day in solid gold or sterling silver without it feeling delicate or gimmicky.

So what actually makes mine different?

It’s Designed Around Movement — But It’s Not a Toy

Yes, it spins.

The centre rotates smoothly within the frame. You can move it with your fingers without even thinking. A lot of people do. Some find it calming. Some just like the quiet movement.

But it’s not designed as a fidget toy.

It’s a proper necklace first.

The weight is right.
The proportions are right.
It sits properly on the chest.

The movement is part of the design — not the whole point.

It’s Not a Locket. It Doesn’t Open.

People sometimes assume a spinning necklace opens like a locket.

Mine doesn’t.

It rotates within its outer frame. The movement is visible. The structure is intentional. It’s about light and balance, not hiding something inside.

That distinction matters.

Solid Gold Means Something

I make my spinning necklaces in solid 9ct gold and sterling silver.

Not plated.
Not vermeil.

If you’re choosing a solid gold spinning necklace in the UK, that matters.

Gold holds value. It wears differently. It softens over time in a way that feels natural. It can be polished years later and still look strong.

Silver feels brighter and cooler. Gold feels warmer and deeper.

It’s not about which is better. It’s about which feels right to you.

It’s Handmade — But Refined

Every spinning necklace is finished by me in my workshop in Cornwall.

The balance has to be right for it to spin smoothly. The soldering has to be clean. The stone setting has to feel secure. The finishing has to feel smooth against the skin.

If something doesn’t feel right in my hand, it doesn’t leave the bench.

It’s not mass-produced. It’s not rushed.

And that’s why no two ever feel identical, even when the design is the same.

Who Chooses a Spinning Necklace?

It’s not about age. And it’s not about trend.

Some people choose it because they like the movement.
Some because they want something different from a standard pendant.
Some because they saw it on ITV’s Playing Nice and felt drawn to it.

But most people choose it because it feels considered.

It’s jewellery with presence — without shouting.

It’s about connection.
