True black sea glass is incredibly rare. This piece is completely opaque — even when you hold it up to the light, you can’t see through it.
I originally had one larger piece of this unusual black sea glass. After years of being tumbled and weathered by the ocean, I shaped part of it by hand for this ring and set it in solid 9ct yellow gold.
I love the contrast between the deep black sea glass and the warmth of the gold. From the top the design is simple, but turn the ring over and you’ll find one of my favourite details — tiny bubbles pierced through the gold underneath the sea glass.
This is the only ring I made from that piece of black sea glass. I also made one matching pair of earrings from it, and that’s it.

What metals do you use?
All Booblinka Jewellery is made from solid gold (9ct–18ct) or sterling silver.
Is all your jewellery hallmarked?
All jewellery that requires hallmarking under UK law is independently hallmarked by the London Assay Office.
Is your sea glass jewellery one of a kind?
Yes. I use genuine sea glass, which means every piece is different. Some pieces are shaped by hand to suit the individual design.
Do you offer custom or bespoke jewellery?
Yes. I take on custom work, so it’s always worth getting in touch to discuss what you have in mind. Every piece I make is handcrafted by me in Cornwall, and I love creating something truly personal.

This pirate glass necklace is very special. It is well made. I don’t worry it might break like I do with some jewellery. The black against the gold is stunning. The necklace has an unusual, clever clasp decorated with a little jewel. It is really beautiful and I love wearing it.
The extra special and clever part for me is an opening link at the front that lets me change the pendant. I have a couple of gold charms I bought on holiday but never put on a bracelet so have never been able to wear.
I have been able to wear them on this chain which has made me very happy.

I love this ring. Made with a lovely chunky brushed silver band it feels high quality. The blue of the sea glass reminds me of blue seas on a sunny day.
The setting is just that satisfyingly bit different and quirky.
